In 1975 he released the album 'Origens e Lembranças,' whose title track became one of his best-known songs.
He has worked with other musicians from Minas Gerais like Milton Nascimento and Lô Borges. Other songs of his include 'Caminhos do Jequitinhonha' and 'Gestação da Terra.'
