Toninho Horta

Toninho Horta was born in Belo Horizonte in 1948. He developed his guitar playing as a teenager, working Brazilian rhythms alongside jazz harmonies. In the 1970s, he became part of the MPB movement and collaborated with Milton Nascimento on the album 'Clube da Esquina'.

His song 'Todo Azul do Mar' is known for its melodic quality and imagery of the ocean. Other pieces like 'Céu de Brasília' and 'Quadros Modernos' show his range. His music often draws from samba and jazz, with lyrics that lean toward the introspective.

Horta's work from the 1970s onward includes albums like 'Terra dos Gerais' from 1976. He continued recording and performing, maintaining a presence in Brazilian music without much fanfare about his later activities.
