He was born Hans-Jürgen Klocke and started the group in 1975 with guitarist Jimmy Manzie, bassist Dieter Ahlers, drummer Uli Müller, and keyboardist Rainer Pietsch. Their sound leaned into the disco wave of the 1970s, and they had a few songs that stuck around, like 'Monte Carlo' and 'Tanze Samba Mit Mir'.
In 1977, the band put out 'Den Appetit Kannst Du Dir Holen,' which became a hit in Germany. After that, they released other tracks, including 'Rio (de Janeiro)' and 'Nie Mehr Allein Sein,' but none reached the same level of commercial success.
Tony Holiday had personal struggles with addiction, and his behavior sometimes made news. He kept performing and putting out music into the 1980s and 1990s, but the band's popularity faded over time.
