Tony Kakko is the vocalist for the Finnish power metal band Sonata Arctica, which formed in 1996. The band's debut album 'Ecliptica' came out in 1999, followed by records like 'Silence' in 2001 and 'Reckoning Night' in 2004. Kakko has written songs including 'Ruling The World' and 'Pieni Rumpali' for the band.
He was born in Kemi, Finland in 1975. In 2007, he had to cancel a European tour after developing vocal cord nodules, but returned to performing after surgery. Kakko has also recorded solo material like the Finnish Christmas song 'Me Käymme Joulun Viettohon'.
