That song, 'Estou bebendo', caught on quickly. It was a loud, straightforward tune about drinking that connected with listeners who recognized its plain-spoken view of everyday life. Other songs like 'Forró do esquisito' and 'O avacalhado' followed a similar rough-edged, conversational style.
