Tony Reis e Julian

Tony Reis and Julian began playing together in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1960s. Tony came from a percussion background while Julian focused on guitar, and their partnership developed naturally rather than through any dramatic origin story. They worked on their material for several years before getting their first real break.

Their debut album arrived in 1973, anchored by the title track 'Me Adoçando Pra Te Amar.' That song became their signature hit, a melodic samba that connected with listeners and gave the duo their first taste of national recognition. Other songs like '30 DIAS' and 'A Bebida Não Cura' followed in similar territory, built around Julian's vocals and guitar work over Tony's rhythmic foundation.

Their music stayed mostly within the samba tradition, with some light touches from pop and jazz. They wrote about ordinary romantic situations without much grandiosity, which suited their straightforward delivery. The partnership lasted through the 1970s and into the 1980s, producing a steady catalog of songs that worked well on radio and in casual settings.
