Tony e Roger

Tony e Roger formed in São Paulo in 1987 when Antônio Pereira dos Santos (Tony) and Rogério de Andrade Barbosa (Roger) met at a local bar. They started performing covers before releasing their debut album, "O Amor Tem Jeito," in 1993. The album found an audience, and their 1995 follow-up, "Amargurado," made them national stars. The title track became a massive hit, resonating with listeners who knew heartbreak firsthand.

Their music falls under the sertanejo style, a kind of Brazilian country music. Songs like "O Cabaré Já Pegou Fogo," "Amor de Violeiro," and "Goiano De Coração" became staples. The duo split up in 1997, with Tony going solo and Roger forming a new partnership, but they reunited in 2000. They continued recording, putting out albums like "Sempre Amigos" in 2003 and "Amando Pela Metade" in 2011.

They denied the claims, and the legal case was eventually dismissed. Through it all, their songs, particularly "Amargurado," maintained a steady presence in Brazilian music.
