Toothless

Toothless formed in Boston around 2014 with Jake Hutchinson on vocals and guitar, Alex Cohen on drums, Nick Gurney on bass, and Julia Flierl handling keyboards and vocals. They started playing in the city's underground scene, building a following with their raw, emotionally direct approach to alternative rock.

Their first album 'Descent' came out in 2016, followed by 'The Great Divide' which showed them moving into more experimental territory. The song 'Sisyphus' from their third album 'Weightless' became their most recognizable track, capturing a particular kind of human striving that resonated with listeners.

They've worked with other artists like Marika Hackman on 'Palm's Backside' and Liz Lawrence on 'Party for Two,' and have songs like 'Alright Alright Alright' and 'Charon' that show their range from driving rock to more atmospheric pieces. Their music tends to avoid easy commercial formulas in favor of something more textured and personal.
