Toser One

Toser One came out of Tijuana in the early 2000s playing what got called electrocumbia, a loud, electronic take on the traditional style. Their lineup included El Coyote on vocals, Silverio Pérez on accordion, and a few others like Jesús "Chuy" Macías on bass and Ulises Eyherabide on guitar. They put out their first album, ¡Los Reyes de la Cumbia!, in 2002, followed by records like Cumbia Sin Censura in 2004 and Toser One in 2006.

Their song "Valgo Vrga" drew particular attention for its blunt language, and conservative groups in Mexico often criticized the band's lyrics and imagery. Toser One kept recording through the 2000s and into the 2010s with albums such as El Rescate, Cumbia Rebajada, and México Para Los Mexicanos. Later tracks like "Yo Seguiré" featured Santa Fe Klan, while "Solo" included Discípulos del Concreto.

They released La Despedida in 2014. The music stayed rowdy and unapologetic, built around cumbia rhythms pumped up with synths and aggressive vocals. For some listeners, that sound became a kind of loud, cathartic release, especially in northern Mexico where the band first took shape.
