Tostão was a Brazilian ensemble that formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1960s. They were led by vocalist and guitarist Hélio Matheus, with core members including bassist Roberto Menescal, drummer Luizão Maia, and keyboardist Aloysio de Oliveira.
Their best-known song is "Ao Mestre, Com Carinho," which became something of a standard in Brazilian music. They released several albums including "Tostão" in 1971, "Bola de Meia, Bola de Gude" in 1972, and "A Alegria de Viver" in 1980.
