Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, or TEED, is the electronic project of Oliver Lee from London. The name suggests something prehistoric, but the music is very much alive, built around Lee's production and vocals. Their debut album 'Trouble' came out in 2012 and was nominated for the Mercury Prize.

Songs like 'Crosswalk' and 'Garden' show what TEED does well: melodic, driving electronic tracks that feel both introspective and made for movement. The sound has evolved over a few albums, including 'Exposure' in 2015 and 'I Can Hear the Birds' in 2018, but it stays rooted in Lee's particular blend of the atmospheric and the danceable.

In 2016, the project faced some public discussion after canceling a performance in Israel, a decision that drew both criticism and support. That moment aside, TEED's work has largely been about the music itself, a steady output of thoughtful electronic pieces from a producer who seems more interested in crafting songs than fitting neatly into any scene.
