Toxik

Toxik came together in New York City around 1984, with Mike Vescera on vocals, Josh Christian and John Donnegan on guitars, Tad Leger on bass, and Dean Castronovo on drums. They were part of that city's metal scene, playing a fast, aggressive style of thrash. Their first album, "World Circus," came out in 1987 and included the track "Heart Attack," which got some attention in thrash circles. The album's cover art, showing a decapitated head, caused a bit of a stir at the time.

They toured after that album, sometimes opening for bigger acts like Metallica and Slayer. In 1989 they put out a second album called "Think This Over," with Charles Sabin handling vocals after Vescera had left. Not long after that, the band broke up. They played a few shows again in 2007, and a remastered version of "World Circus" with extra tracks came out in 2015.
