Toy-Box was a Danish Europop duo formed in 1997 by singer Anila Mirza and producer Amir El-Falaki. Their debut album 'Fantastic' came out in 1999, anchored by the single 'Superstar,' which became a hit across Europe. The follow-up album 'Toy Ride' arrived in 2001.
Their sound was built around Mirza's vocals and El-Falaki's production, with songs like 'Tarzan and Jane' and 'Best Friend' carrying the same upbeat, dance-oriented energy as 'Superstar.' The duo's music had a straightforward pop appeal that found an audience during that late-90s period.
In 2003, Mirza filed a lawsuit against El-Falaki over royalty disputes, which was settled out of court. Later, El-Falaki registered the Toy-Box trademark in his own name in 2010.
