Toya

Toya is an R&B singer who released music in the 2000s. Her 2004 single 'What Else Can I Do' became her breakout hit, with songs like 'Book Of Love' and 'I Do' following in a similar soulful vein. She worked with producer Andre 'Dre' Carter and was sometimes associated with the St. Lunatics crew on tracks like 'I Do Part 2.'

Her debut album 'Toya' came out in 2004, followed by 'Sophisticated Ratchet' in 2006 and 'Reparations' in 2008. The music leaned toward straightforward R&B with some hip-hop touches, avoiding much of the pop crossover sound that was common at the time.

In 2006, Toya faced legal trouble related to drug charges, which briefly interrupted her career. She returned to recording afterward, putting out 'Phenom' in 2012.
