The band's 1987 debut single 'Heart and Soul' went to number one in the UK, but it was 'China in Your Hand' the next year that defined their sound internationally. That song's mix of synth-pop and Decker's powerful vocals became a signature. Tracks like 'Secret Garden' and 'I Will Be With You' kept them on radio through the early 90s.

T'Pau formed in 1987 around vocalist Carol Decker and guitarist Ronnie Rogers. They released albums like 'Bridge of Spies' in 1988 and 'Rage' in 1991, with Decker and Rogers as the constant core through lineup changes. A 2008 reunion tour brought their material back to audiences.
