Archive material and source history
Trademark started as a pop band in the mid-1990s, originally called 4 the Cause. The group had Tony Gonzalez, Chris Carmichael, and Kevin Griffin. Their debut album 'For the Cause' came out in 1998, and it included the single 'Amazed', which did well on charts.
After Gonzalez left in 2003, Carmichael and Griffin kept going as a duo and put out 'Into the Sun' in 2004. Carmichael left too by 2006, leaving Griffin as the only original member still with the band. Other songs from their catalog include 'Blow It Away' and 'Don't Want To Live Without Your Love'.
They had some legal and financial trouble around 2003, including a bankruptcy filing. The band's music was pop with emotional lyrics, but they also got some criticism for sounding too formulaic at times.
