Trander

Trander formed in Tijuana, Mexico with Mauricio Flores on vocals and guitar, Arturo "Turko" Aranda on bass, and Ignacio "Nacho" Chapado on drums. Their name comes from a phonetic inversion of "Deranged," which gives you some idea of what they were going for.

Their debut album was called "Pensamientos de Un Volado Sociópata Bajo Los Efectos Del Xanax," which translates to "Thoughts of a Flying Sociopath Under the Influence of Xanax." The title track became something of an anthem for certain listeners, dealing pretty directly with drug addiction and mental illness.

Their music often addressed poverty, violence, and organized religion, with lyrics that could be profane and sharply critical. They kept at it regardless.
