Trash Talk formed in Sacramento in 2006, playing a fast, abrasive style of hardcore punk. Their sound drew from earlier bands like Black Flag and Minor Threat, but with a particularly raw and confrontational edge. They put out records like '119' in 2008 and 'Eyes & Nines' the following year.

Their 2012 album 'Awake' included the song 'Slander,' which became something of an anthem for their approach. The band's live shows were known for being aggressive, and they've had to cancel tours in the past. They've also been vocal about political views and animal rights, which has drawn criticism from some corners.

Other songs like '925' and 'Awake' kept that same intense energy. They released 'No Peace' in 2014. For a certain part of the hardcore scene, their music connected precisely because it didn't try to smooth anything over.
