Archive material and source history
Tredegar formed in the Welsh town of the same name in 1987. The original lineup included vocalist Mark Dee, guitarists Tony "Astro" Jones and John Jones, bassist Dave Daves, and drummer Ian "Spike" Davies.
Their 1993 debut album was titled "The Battle of Bosworth," named after their signature song about the historical conflict. That track, along with others like "Duma" and "Way of the Warrior," helped them build a following with energetic live shows.
They released three more albums through 2003: "Warriors" in 1995, "The Iron Banner" in 1999, and "Defenders of the Crown" in 2003. The band's lineup has seen changes over time, though Dee, Jones, Jones, Daves, and Davies have all been part of the group at various points.
