Triathlon formed in São Paulo in 1996 as a trio with vocalist and guitarist Rodrigo Koala, bassist João Barone, and drummer Claudio Souza. Their debut EP 'Velocidade' came out in 1997, but it was their 2003 album 'Pulso' that really connected with listeners. The single 'Mar de Pedras' from that album became something people actually played and remembered.
They kept putting out records like 'Velozes e Furiosos' in 2005 and 'Singular' in 2008. Some of their songs like 'A Mais Nova' and 'Carnaval Da Noite' show the kind of straightforward rock they were doing. They released a compilation called '10 Anos' in 2013.
Their lyrics sometimes got them into conversations, like with the song 'Sabor do Veneno' from the 'Velozes e Furiosos' album. They were just a three-piece band from São Paulo making rock music for a while there.
