Tribaião formed in 1994 in Salvador's Pelourinho district, bringing together musicians from the area. Their sound pulls from samba, axé, and funk, creating a rhythmic blend that's built for dancing. Flavio Axé handles vocals, with Eduardo Lage on guitar, Neto Alexandre on bass, Eder Silva on drums, and Renatinho on keyboards.

Their song "Bate Coração" became a major hit, though in 2008 they faced accusations of plagiarizing its melody. The band defended themselves and eventually won the legal dispute. Other tracks like "Juazeiro" and "Meio Dia" also found their way into their setlists.

They released their self-titled debut album in 1995, followed by "Viva a Bahia" in 1997. The lineup has shifted some over time, but the core members have generally stayed involved.
