Tribal formed in Barcelona in the early 2000s, with Diego Ortega on vocals and guitar. Their first album, Caribe, came out in 2002, followed by Somos in 2005 and Aída in 2007. The band's lineup included Oriol Rossell on bass, Iván Melón Lewis on drums, Javi Vegara on keyboards, and Alberto Sánchez on flamenco guitar.
In 2013, they released the album Ahora Sé, which featured the single of the same name. That song, along with others like Amor and Ay mujer, became some of their most recognizable work. The group put out El Último Tren in 2010, and around that time they dealt with a legal dispute over their music rights.
Their sound mixed flamenco guitar with rock and electronic elements. They received some awards, including Latin Grammys and a Spanish Ondas Award. The band's performances were known for their energy.
