Trimotor

Trimotor formed in Porto Alegre in 2003, with Leo Fressato on vocals and guitar, Beto Bruno on bass, and Gustavo Pena on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2005, and the single 'A Distância' caught on with listeners, helping them find an audience in Brazil. The band's sound pulls from rock and folk, with a grounding in Brazilian traditions.

In 2007, Trimotor got into a public dispute over the lyrics to a song called 'O Pato,' which some critics said promoted animal cruelty. The band argued it was meant to highlight mistreatment. Other tracks like 'Cópia' and 'Luiza' show their range, from introspective melodies to more direct rock arrangements.

They kept recording after that, though the existing history cuts off before detailing later releases. The songs that have stuck around, like 'Falsos Profetas' and 'Já Passou,' suggest a group that works in straightforward, melodic terms without overcomplicating things.
