Trini formed in Buenos Aires in the early 2010s with Romina Bernardo on vocals, Max Bernard on guitar, Juani Jarque on bass, and Franco Tosto on drums. They built a following through live shows before releasing their self-titled EP in 2015.
Their 2016 single "Grito" became a breakout hit, with Bernardo's vocals carrying what felt like an anthem of resilience. The song's success led to their first full album, 2017's "A Gritos," which took its title from that track. They followed it with "Fuego y Agua" in 2019 and "Despertar" in 2021.
Bernardo writes most of the material, and songs like "Vencedor" and "Castelo de Cristal" show her leaning into themes of strength and fantasy. In 2018, the band faced some criticism about explicit content in their lyrics, which they addressed by saying they were reflecting real experiences.
