Trube formed in Rio de Janeiro around 2010, with Niko Nicolaiewsky on vocals. Their music pulls from pop and rock, with some ethnic touches mixed in. In 2014, they put out the single "Vamos Recomeçar," which got attention both in Brazil and elsewhere. That song led to their first album, Praia da Luz, in 2015.
After that debut, they released Dia de Sol in 2017 and Eletrocardiograma in 2019. Those later records moved toward a more experimental sound. The band's lineup has shifted over time, with several members leaving since the early days.
