Trucker came together in the early 1970s, with Michael "Trucker" Tucker on vocals and guitar. They built a reputation for raw, energetic shows that pulled from Southern rock and blues. Their debut album in 1975 was called "All These Things I Wish That I Could Save," and the title track became a hit.
After that first album, they put out records like "Bad Reputation" in 1977 and "Ride the Lightning" in 1979. Tucker's outspoken style sometimes caused friction with the industry, and there were rumors about drug use around the band. They kept recording through the 1980s with albums including "No Man's Land," "Heart of Stone," and "Blood Brothers."
The lineup during those years included Jake "Snake" Edwards on guitar, Billy "Bones" Haskins on bass, and Tommy "Thunder" Thompson on drums. Another song people remember is "Redemption is Coming." Their last studio album from that period was "The Last Stand" in 1987.
