Their raw and aggressive sound, influenced by bands like Black Flag and the Germs, quickly gained recognition within the local punk community.

In 1981, Tsol released their debut album, "Dance with Me." The album showcased the band's unique blend of punk aggression and melodic sensibility, and it garnered critical acclaim. Lineup Changes and Controversies
Tsol's career was marked by a series of lineup changes. In 1982, Todd Barnes was replaced by Mitch Dean. This was followed by the departure of Ron Emory and the addition of Greg Kuehn on guitar. The band also faced controversy over their perceived association with the straight edge movement, which advocated for drug and alcohol abstinence.
Subsequent Releases and Hiatus
Despite the challenges, Tsol continued to release critically acclaimed albums throughout the 1980s, including "Beneath the Shadows" (1983) and "Change Today?" (1984). They toured extensively, building a loyal fan base. However, in 1990, the band announced their hiatus.
Reunion and Legacy
In 1999, Tsol reunited with their original lineup and embarked on a successful tour. They have since released several new albums, including "Disappear" (2001) and "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Free Downloads" (2009).
