Tube formed in 1985 with Nobuteru Maeda on vocals, Kazuo Takeda on lead guitar, Hitoshi Imakawa on rhythm guitar, Atsushi Kimura on bass, and Makoto Torii on drums. They came out of Japan's early '80s underground rock scene with a straightforward pop-rock sound that caught on quickly.
Their third album, 1987's "Blue Pacific," gave them their commercial breakthrough. The title track became a hit, and they followed it with albums like "Rendezvous" in 1988 and "Eyes" in 1990. Songs like "Ashita e no michi" and "Beach Time" became staples of their catalog.
In 1995, they faced plagiarism accusations over the song "Aoi Himitsu," though they were eventually cleared. They released 21 studio albums over their career, including tracks like "Season In The Sun" and "Ah Natsu Yasumi."
