Tuc Lucas formed in 2010 with Lucas Arruda on vocals and guitar, Bruno Wanderley on bass, and Rafael Altério on drums. They started playing indie pop with Brazilian folk touches, and their song "Valsa" became their most recognizable track.
Their first album, also called Valsa, came out in 2011. They followed it with Praça do Mar in 2014 and Tempo Suspenso in 2018. Another song people know is "Máquina de Vacilação."
Arruda's voice and guitar work gave the band its basic sound, with Wanderley's bass providing the rhythmic foundation. They worked within indie pop and MPB styles without making dramatic claims about changing Brazilian music.
