Tunng

Tunng formed in 2003 when Mike Lindsay, Sam Genders, and Phil Winter met at Goldsmiths College in London. Their early work blended acoustic folk instruments with electronic loops and samples, which gave their music an unsettled, quietly experimental quality. Their debut album 'Mother's Daughter and Other Songs' came out in 2005, followed by records like 'Good Arrows' in 2007 and 'Turbo Times' in 2015.

Songs like 'Beautiful And Light' and 'Bodies' show how they built atmosphere from sparse arrangements, acoustic guitar, cello, subtle electronics, and vocals that felt both melancholic and hopeful. Lindsay handled much of the songwriting and singing, with Genders on guitar and Winter on drums and percussion.

They worked with other artists occasionally, including Efterklang and the London Contemporary Orchestra. Their sound kept shifting across albums, touching on dub and ambient textures while holding onto that core of folky melody and electronic texture.
