Tuono

Tuono came out of Rio de Janeiro in the early 2000s, led by vocalist and songwriter Leticia Novaes. Their debut single "Transbordando" got attention right away, and the album of the same name followed in 2003. The band's sound mixed rock with electronic elements and some ethnic touches, which set them apart from a lot of what was happening at the time.

Leticia Novaes's lyrics were known for being direct and personal, dealing with topics that sometimes made conservative critics uncomfortable. Songs like "Não Sei Dormir" and "Diário de uma Mente em Depressão" gave a sense of that raw, confessional approach. Some radio stations avoided their music, but they kept working.

After that first album, they put out records like "Infinito" in 2005 and "Eletroacústica" in 2008, moving further into experimental and electronic territory. Later tracks like "Sobre Não Ser Suficiente" continued in that vein. They built a following of listeners who connected with that unvarnished, sometimes difficult honesty in the writing.
