Tuta e Tota

Tuta e Tota are the Brazilian duo of Altair Alves Gouveia and Reinaldo Barriga, childhood friends from São Paulo who perform as Tuta and Tota. Their sound works with sertanejo, pop, and Brazilian folk elements, but it's their vocal blend that gives the music its character.

They had their breakthrough in 1981 with the album 'Falso Juramento,' which included the title track that became a hit. That song, along with others like 'Jeca Tatuzinho' and 'Minha Opinião,' helped establish their place in Brazilian music during that period.

Over time they recorded more albums and worked with other sertanejo artists like Chitãozinho & Xororó and Leonardo. Their catalog includes songs such as 'Rei do Chicote Moda de Viola' and 'A Força do Amor,' which have remained familiar to listeners who follow the genre.
