Tuxedomoon

Tuxedomoon formed in San Francisco in the late 1970s. Their sound was hard to pin down, mixing post-punk with electronic and ambient textures. Early albums like 'Half-Mute' from 1979 and 'Desire' from 1981 established their approach, which favored atmosphere over straightforward rock.

Steven Brown handled vocals and keyboards, Blaine L. Reininger played violin and viola, and Peter Principle was on drums. Bruce Geduldig was part of the group on bass and guitar from 1980 to 1985. Their music often had a theatrical quality, with stage shows that included costumes and sets.

Songs like 'In A Manner Of Speaking' and 'Bonjour Tristesse' show their way with moody, melodic lines that don't follow typical verse-chorus patterns. They kept recording through the 1980s with albums such as 'Holy Wars' in 1985 and 'Cabin in the Sky' in 1986.
