TV Pampa formed in Florianópolis in 2008 around brothers Marcos and Chico Teixeira. They play a kind of surf rock that picks up on Brazilian rhythms, which wasn't the most obvious fit for the local scene at the time. Their first album, 2011's 'Tudo Novo,' gave them a song that stuck around.
They've put out a few more records since then, 'Sol' in 2013, 'Horizonte' in 2016, and 'Noite' in 2020. The lineup includes Junior Lima on drums, Pedro Hansen on bass, and Thiago Albuquerque on keyboards. They've played shows with artists like Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso.
There was a plagiarism claim from another band in 2017 over a melody, which TV Pampa said came from traditional sources. Mostly, their music just sounds like it belongs on a beach somewhere, not trying to be anything grander than that.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
