TV Paraguaya formed in 1987 with Carlos Báez on vocals, Orlando "Kike" Pavón on guitar, Hugo Ferreira on bass, and Jorge "Toto" González on drums. They put out an album called "Cara a Cara Al Sol" in 1994, and the title track became something people in Paraguay kept listening to. The song "Todo Pasa Por Este Canal" is another one people know.
Báez wrote most of their material, and the lineup stayed mostly the same for a while. Hugo Ferreira left in 2003, and Pablo Benegas took over on bass. They kept making records like "Pasiones" in 1995, "Juntos" in 2000, and "Reencuentro" in 2009.
Their songs often talked about ordinary life and social issues in Paraguay. The music wasn't flashy, just straightforward guitar, bass, and drums behind Báez's voice. People responded to it.
