Twenty Two formed in 1997 after another band dissolved, with Cris Braun on vocals alongside guitarists Gabriel Buarque and Sérgio Britto. Their debut album 'Domingo' came out in 2000, and tracks like 'Introspecção' and 'Dia D' found an audience in Brazil. The band's second album 'Desistir' arrived in 2003, with the title track becoming a notable ballad.

Britto left the group after that album, and the band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2007. They returned in 2018 with a different lineup that included bassist Rafael Guerra and drummer Bruno Oliveira, releasing a third album called 'Semente'.
