Twi5t formed in São Paulo in 2008 with Lucas Silveira on vocals, Filipe Bortolo on bass, Marcelo Camelo on drums, and Rodrigo Tavares on guitars. Their debut single "Acabou" caught on quickly, and they followed it with songs like "Bye Bye" and "Ela É Minha Razão."
In 2010, Camelo and Tavares left the band. Silveira and Bortolo brought in new members to continue. They released four studio albums between 2009 and 2018, starting with "Believe" and ending with "Coração."
Some of their performances drew criticism for explicit content, and they faced accusations about promoting drug use. Their outspoken views on social issues also created friction with conservative groups.
