Twigg

Twigg formed in São Paulo in 1996 with Fernando Catatau on vocals and various instruments, Felipe Machado on guitar, Marcelo Cabral on bass, and Gustavo Ruiz on drums. They started playing small venues around Brazil, building a following with their live shows before releasing their debut album 'Manual' in 2003.

Their song 'A Chave' came out in 2005 and became their most recognizable track, getting regular radio play and climbing the Brazilian charts. Other songs like 'Amor Só' and 'É o Amor' also found their way into their setlists during this period.

Twigg's music mixed Brazilian rhythms with indie rock and electronic elements, creating a sound that was both familiar and experimental. Their lyrics tended toward the introspective, which sometimes drew criticism from listeners who found them overly serious or pretentious.

After 'A Chave' brought them wider attention, the band continued performing and occasionally speaking out on social issues, though they never quite reached that level of mainstream recognition again.
