Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks formed in Chicago in 1992 with Cadien Lake James and Clay Frankel on guitars and vocals, plus bassist Jack Dolan and drummer Connor Hanwick. Their early albums like 'Sunken' and 'Planet of Ice' had a raw, distortion-heavy sound that fit right into the city's garage rock scene.

They got more attention with 2003's 'Wild Onion,' which included the single 'Blue Coupe.' That song's hazy harmonies and steady groove became one of their better-known tracks. Later records like 'Our Band Could Be Your Life' and 'Lookout Low' kept the guitars up front but let some dream-pop textures seep in.

James and Frankel have been the constant creative center, with Dolan and Hanwick rounding out the lineup for most of the band's run. They've put out six studio albums total, working at their own pace without much fuss about reinvention.
