Udo Dirkschneider's band has been cranking out heavy riffs since the late '80s.
For a sense of their sound, 'Animal Instinct' from the debut and 'Balls To The Wall' are good places to start. They're both straightforward, heavy tracks that haven't left the setlist.
When Udo left Accept in 1987, he didn't slow down. The band's first album, 'Animal House,' had a track called 'Animal Instinct' that set the tone. Songs like 'Balls To The Wall' have stuck around in their live sets for decades, and they're still putting out records like 'Game Over' in the 2020s.
U.D.O. started with 'Animal House' in 1987, then put out 'Mean Machine' and 'Faceless World' a few years later. They hit a legal snag with their label in 1992 but kept releasing albums, including 'Solid' in 1997 and 'Man and Machine' in 2002. The lineup has shifted over the years, with guitarists like Andrei Smirnow and Fitty Wienhold coming through.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
