Ultimo Aviso formed in Bogotá, Colombia in 1989. Their music mixed experimental rock with traditional Colombian rhythms, which gave them a particular sound that didn't fit neatly into categories. They released their debut album in 1991, which included the song 'La Princesa Caprichosa (Pequeña Serenata para Grandes Instrumentos).'
Their lyrics sometimes drew criticism and censorship. They kept making music anyway, putting out albums like 'Con El Alma' in 1993 and 'La Tierra Soñada' in 1995. The latter was a concept album about social justice and environmental themes.
Other songs in their catalog include 'La Yegua mia,' 'Candonga de los colectiveros (candombe-milonga),' and 'Bolero de Mastropiero.' The band's lineup included Andres Cepeda on vocals and guitar, Hector Buitrago on bass, Juan Fernando Fonseca on drums, and Diego Cadavid on guitar. They released another album called 'Sueños' in 2004.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
