Ultimo Pulso formed in Barcelona in the early 2000s as a quartet with Xavi Sarrià on vocals and guitar, David Rodríguez on bass, David Fernández on drums, and Jordi Sánchez on keyboards. Their debut album 'Try With You' came out in 2003 and found an audience beyond the city's underground scene.
Their lyrics sometimes stirred things up, like in 2007 when a song called 'Odio' sparked a public debate about political speech. The band went on hiatus in 2011, citing creative differences and a need to step back. They returned in 2016 with an album called 'Esperanza'.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
