Ultra Leves formed in Porto Alegre in 1996 with André Jungblut on vocals, Beto Stocco on guitar, Cristiano Boelter on bass, and Rafa Batera on drums. Their debut album 'Nunca Mais' came out the following year, and songs like 'Cascas de Banana' caught on with listeners in Brazil.
They kept putting out records, including 'Boca de Ouro' in 2000, which drew some criticism for its lyrics. The band's sound had a rough, direct quality that didn't smooth out over time.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
