Ultrabeat was a British electronic duo made up of Mike Di Scala and Paul Harris. They came out of the early 2000s dance scene with a track called "Pretty Green Eyes," which got a lot of radio play and ended up topping charts in a few countries. That song, with its big melody and straightforward lyrics about a woman's gaze, also drew some criticism for how it portrayed women, though that didn't stop it from becoming a hit.
They put out a self-titled debut album that mixed club-ready energy with a few slower moments, and followed it with records like "The Dance" and "Sentiments." Tunes such as "Feel It With Me" and "Escape" kept their sound in the same vein, uplifting, bass-heavy, and built for the dancefloor. Over time, their commercial peak passed as new styles took over, but you could still hear their tracks in clubs here and there.
Di Scala and Harris kept making music and touring for a while, even as their profile lowered. The duo's output was always squarely in that upbeat, anthem-driven lane, without much departure from the formula that first got them attention. Their story is mostly about a couple of DJs who landed one major hit and then kept doing what they knew, for better or worse.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
