Ultracyde formed in Copenhagen in the early 1990s, with Morten Søgaard, Anders Remmer, and Niels Gregersen making atmospheric electronic music together. Their self-titled debut came out in 1994, followed by albums like 'Equator' and 'Return of the Ultracyde.'
Their sound leans into spacious, melodic trance with a reflective quality. One of their better-known tracks, 'Man On The Moon,' has a drifting, haunting feel that gives a sense of their style.
They kept the same three members through their run, with Søgaard handling production, Remmer on vocals, and Gregersen providing rhythm. Their music found an audience among listeners drawn to that kind of expansive, introspective electronic sound.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
