Ultraviolence formed in Valencia, Spain in 2004 with Alberto Martín on vocals, Toni Tormo and Chema Peris on guitars, Vicent Más on bass, and Joan Saez on drums. They've released five albums, starting with 'Condenado a Las Tinieblas' in 2006 and most recently 'El Dios que Falló' in 2020.
Their music pulls from heavy metal, thrash, black metal, and death metal. The lyrics often deal with darkness and religious skepticism, which has sometimes drawn criticism. In 2011, their album 'El Ritual' was temporarily pulled from sale after the cover art, a crucified nun, upset some religious groups.
The band's sound stays aggressive and atmospheric, built around that core lineup from Valencia.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
