Untsakad formed in 2012 in Pärnu, Estonia. Their debut single 'Armasta' became an early hit, and they released an album of the same name in 2014. The band's lineup included Maarja Nuut on vocals, Timo Vendt on guitar, Indrek Toome on bass, and Mikk Simson on drums.
Their music draws from Estonian folk traditions while incorporating pop and rock elements. Songs like 'Eerika' and 'Lepalind' show their melodic approach, with lyrics often touching on personal themes. They've worked with other Estonian artists including folk singer Mari Kalkun.
In 2016, Untsakad faced plagiarism accusations regarding their song 'Muuda mind,' though they continued releasing music afterward.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
