Up Dharma Down formed in the late 1990s with Armi Millare on vocals and guitar, Carlos Tanada on bass, and Paul Yap on drums. They put out their first album, 'Fragmented,' in 2006. The band's sound has shifted over time, moving from folk melodies toward alternative rock and electronica. Their 2010 single 'Lazy Daisy' drew some attention for its lyrics about social apathy.
They've released several albums since, including 'Capacities' in 2008, 'Bipolar' in 2010, and 'Cosmos' in 2015. Songs like 'All Year Round' and 'Anino' show their range. The lineup changed too, with Ean Mayor taking over on drums and John Bojos joining on guitar.
Their later work includes the self-titled 'UDD' in 2019 and 'Standards' in 2022. Tracks such as 'Blessed' and 'Clockwork' reflect their continued output. The band's lyrics often lean toward introspection and social themes, though they've avoided much of the mainstream spotlight.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
