UP Way formed as a quartet in Brazil around 2015. Their song "Corro Livre" connected with listeners, becoming something of an anthem with its message about freedom. The group includes Téo Ruas on vocals, Erick Ruas on drums, Bruno Rios on bass, and Jean Machado on guitar.
They released their first album, "Liberdade Sem Filtro," in 2017. Later records like "Nação da Música" (2019) and a live version of "Corro Livre" (2021) showed them working with different rhythms, pulling in bits of funk and reggae alongside Brazilian styles.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
