UP4 formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2018 with four members: João Vitor on vocals and guitar, Igor Fraga on drums, João Gomes on bass, and Leo Picon handling rap and lyrics. They put out their first album 'Nossa História' the following year.
Their song 'Duas Taças' came out in 2019 and became their breakout track. There were some plagiarism claims about it in 2020, which the band denied. They followed with albums like 'Pra Você' in 2020 and 'Tudo ou Nada' in 2021.
Along with 'Duas Taças', another of their songs is 'Mesmo Assim'. Their music pulls from pop, funk, and hip-hop.
